Kevin Rodrigues Named NECC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

MARSHFIELD, Mass.- Kevin Rodrigues (Dorchester, Mass.) of the Eastern Nazarene College men's track and field team earned his first career New England Collegiate Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week honor, announced the league office Monday.

The Lions competed at the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Classic for their second meet of the season.

Rodrigues set two new school records at the meet. He finished the 800 meter run with a time of 2:13.45 to best the previous record of 2:14.26. Rodrigues also ran the 1,500 meter run at 4:41.40 which surpassed the record set at last year's Corsair Classic by just under 13 seconds.

Up next, Eastern Nazarene heads to Smith College to compete in the Carla Coffey Classic.
