Men’s Tennis Sweeps Season’s First GNAC Weekly Awards

WINTHROP, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team swept the first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors as senior Diego Rodriguez (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) was named the GNAC Player of the Week and freshman Luis Hernandez (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) earned GNAC Rookie of the Week honors, announced the league office Monday.

Rodriguez notched a straight-sets victory at the No. 1 singles position as the Lions topped Endicott. He also partnered with Carlos Sanchez (Malaga, Spain) to prevail 8-5 at the top doubles spot.

Hernandez posted a pair of singles wins at the No. 3 singles slot as Eastern Nazarene defeated Endicott and fell to Allegheny.

Eastern Nazarene owns a 3-4 overall record and returns to the courts March 8 to battle New Jersey City.
