
Men’s Tennis Aces Albertus Magnus 9-0
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team cruised past Albertus Magnus 9-0 Saturday afternoon at the ENC Tennis Courts.
The Lions climb to 9-5 on the year and 3-0 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference with the win. The Falcons fall to 7-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play with the outcome.
Diego Rodriguez (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and Carlos Sanchez (Malaga, Spain) posted an 8-4 victory at the No. 1 doubles position over Zak Levine and Alex Hale.
Simao Nobre (Lisbon, Portugal) and Carlos Gallardo (Tulua, Colombia) topped Xavier Frey and Nick Tagliaferri 8-5 at the second spot.
Avelino Parrondo (Madrid, Spain) and Baldo Karinja (Zadar, Croatia) defeated Julien-Jean Baptiste and Rockenson Charles at the third slot, 8-1.
Rodriguez notched a 6-3, 6-3 win at the top singles position over Levine. Nobre collected a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Hale at the No. 2 slot.
Sanchez triumphed 6-2, 6-0 over Tagliaferri at the third spot to tally his team-leading 10th singles win. Parrondo breezed by Frey at the No. 4 position, 6-0, 6-0.
Diego Torres (Weston, Fla.) blanked Alessandro Proscino 6-0, 6-0 at the fifth slot while Gallardo prevailed 6-3, 6-0 over Baptiste in the sixth singles match.
