Eastern Nazarene swept the doubles matches for the second-straight day to grab a 3-0 lead.
Austin Steelman (Darlington, Md.) and Nick Thompson (York, Pa.) claimed an 8-5 win at the No. 1 position. Sam McKay-Corkum (Rehoboth, Mass.) and Tim Luz (Cumberland, R.I.) edged York's Matt Rosenkrantz and Jake Greenstein 8-6 at the second slot. Tyler Perron (Plympton, Mass.) and Kevin Paterno (Buenos Aires, Argentina) breezed to an 8-0 victory at the third spot.
The two squads split the singles matches as the Lions secured their second-consecutive win.
Steelman cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the top spot while McKay-Corkum picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win at the No. 2 position. In the fifth singles match, Paterno claimed the opening set 6-3 and eked out a 9-7 decision in a tiebreaker to capture the second set 7-6.
Luz suffered a 6-3, 6-1 loss at the No. 3 slot while Perron fell 6-0, 6-2 at the fourth position and Thompson dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision at the sixth singles slot.
Eastern Nazarene will look to post its third-straight victory as it hits the courts March 6 to face off against Catholic University at 9 am.
