
Men’s Tennis Triumphs Over Penn State-Behrend, 8-1

The ENC Lions improve to 1-1 on the season while the Behrend Lions slide to 3-7 overall.
Eastern Nazarene swept all three doubles matches to boast a 3-0 lead at the start of singles action.
Austin Steelman (Darlington, Md.) and Nick Thompson (York, Pa.) teamed up at the top slot to post an 8-2 victory. Sam McKay-Corkum (Rehoboth, Mass.) and Tim Luz (Cumberland, R.I.) captured an 8-4 win at the No. 2 position. Tyler Perron (Plympton, Mass.) and Kevin Paterno (Buenos Aires, Argentina) rounded out the doubles sweep with an 8-2 decision at the third spot.
Eastern Nazarene claimed five wins in singles play to secure its first victory of the season.
Steelman prevailed 6-4, 6-4 at the No. 1 position while McKay-Corkum picked up a 7-5, 6-1 win at the second slot. Perron and Thompson both rolled to 6-0, 6-0 victories at the fourth and sixth spots, respectively.
In the fifth singles match, Paterno cruised to a 6-0 win in the first set before falling 7-3 in a tiebreaker in the second. The freshman bounced back to take the deciding third frame 6-4.
Penn State-Behrend tallied its lone point of the match at the No. 3 singles position as Lerdlarp Jaturapol topped Luz 6-4, 7-5.
