Men’s Soccer Downed by No. 3 Middlebury, 2-0

QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to nationally-ranked Middlebury Wednesday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The Panthers entered the match tied at No. 3 in the latest United Soccer Coaches National Poll.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The two teams battled to a scoreless opening stanza with the visitors controlling a 7-0 advantage in shots.
• Middlebury got on the board in the 67th minute to claim a 1-0 edge. Gavin Randolph slotted in his team-leading fourth tally of the season as Harper Nicholl and Jordan Saint-Louis each picked up assists.
• The Panthers tacked on their second goal of the game in the 87th minute as Will Sawin bagged his second marker of the year.

• Gabriel Viau (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) made his seventh-straight start between the pipes and recorded five saves.
• Eastern Nazarene finished with three shots while Middlebury manufactured 15 attempts on the day.
• The guests concluded the contest with an 8-1 margin in corner kicks earned.
• Jorge Gonzalez (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain), Nico Kaczmarczyk (Blickstedt, Germany), and Emilio Magdon (Mexico City, Mexico) all notched one shot for the Lions.
