Gabriel Viau Collects NAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Accolades

WATERVILLE, Maine- Freshman Gabriel Viau (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) of the Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team picked up North Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors, announced the league office Monday.

Viau mde his collegiate debut between the pipes and posted a 0.00 goals-against average across three matches while recording four saves.

He made his career debut in a relief capacity in net in the Lions' 3-2 loss at UMass-Boston. Viau made his first start of the year and notched a clean sheet as Eastern Nazarene topped Vermont State Johnson 3-0. He capped off the week with his second consecutive shutout as the Lions tied SUNY Delhi 0-0.

Eastern Nazarene sports a 3-2-3 overall record to go with a 2-0-1 mark in the North Atlantic Conference. The Lions return to action September 26 at Emerson.
