Men’s Soccer Plays SUNY Delhi to Scoreless Stalemate

NORTH QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team dueled SUNY Delhi to a 0-0 draw Sunday afternoon at Creedon Field.


THE BASICS:

Records: Lions (3-2-3, 2-0-1 NAC) | Broncos (3-2-4, 0-1-2 NAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The visitors recorded seven shots in the first half while the Lions fired six shots with neither team finding the back of the net.
  • SUNY Delhi earned a penalty kick in the 83rd minute but rookie goalkeeper Gabriel Viau (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) saved the attempt to preserve the shutout.
  • Despite Eastern Nazarene generating seven shots in the second half and the Broncos producing nine shots, the two squads were held off the scoreboard and settled for the 0-0 tie.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

  • Gabriel Viau (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) posted his second straight clean sheet with a four-save effort between the pipes.
  • The home side concluded the contest with 13 shots while SUNY Delhi registered 16 shots and held a 6-5 edge in corner kicks earned.
  • Nils Hesmer (Herrenburg, Germany), Dan Hill (Tewkesbury, England), and Mattia Zuin (Mexico City, Mexico) all fired three shots in the match to lead the Lions.
