Men’s Soccer Coasts Past Mitchell, 8-1
NEW LONDON, Conn.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team collected an 8-1 victory at Mitchell Saturday afternoon.
THE BASICS:
Score: Eastern Nazarene 8, Mitchell 1

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The visitors grabbed a 1-0 edge in the sixth minute. Mattia Zuin (Mexico City, Mexico) bagged his third goal of the season off of an assist by Joaquin Ferraro (Seville, Spain).
- Eastern Nazarene doubled its advantage to 2-0 in the 21st minute as Clide Neau (Easton, Mass.) netted his team-leading seventh marker of the year.
- The Lions widened the gap to 3-0 in the 44th minute. Neau slotted in his second tally of the match and eighth of the campaign.
- Eastern Nazarene added a goal in the 50th minute to stretch its lead to 4-0. Bryan Vargas (San Jose, Costa Rica) found the back of the net with a long-range, left-footed shot to notch his sixth goal of the year while Ferraro picked up his second assist of the contest.
- The guests pushed the margin to 5-0 in the 53rd minute as Vargas buried his second marker of the game and seventh of the season.
- The Lions tacked on their sixth strike of the afternoon in the 54th minute to extend their advantage to 6-0. Samuel Rosas (Danbury, Conn.) netted his second tally of the year as Ferraro dished out his third assist of the game.
- Eastern Nazarene chalked up its seventh score of the match in the 63rd minute to stretch the gap to 7-0. Rookie Julio Lopez (Monterrey, Mexico) knocked in a loose ball inside the box to collect his first collegiate goal.
- The visitors pushed their lead to 8-0 in the 80th minute as Josiah Milord (Randolph, Mass.) bagged his second marker of the fall.
- Mitchell got on the board in the final seconds of the match. Dylan Lucey scored his fifth goal of the year as Nolan Clack provided the assist.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Goalkeeper Antonio Soto Valente (Maracaibo, Venezuela.) finished with six saves in his sixth start before Erik Berg (Hadley, Mass.) made his seventh appearance of the season.
- Eastern Nazarene generated 24 shot attempts on the day while Mitchell fired 10 shots.
- Mitchell concluded the contest with narrow 4-3 edge in corner kicks.
