Men’s Soccer Drops 5-1 Decision at Bridgewater State
BRIDGEWATER, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team endured a 5-1 setback at Bridgewater State Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Eastern Nazarene nearly opened the scoring in the second minute of action as Joaquin Ferraro (Seville, Spain) drilled a free kick off the crossbar on the Lions' first shot attempt of the contest.
- The guests grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute. Senior Bryan Vargas (San Jose, Costa Rica) converted a penalty kick to notch his first tally of the season.
- The home side leveled the match at 1-1 in the 26th minute. Jack O'Toole knocked in a free kick delivery by Joseph Madden Jr. for his first marker of the fall.
- Bridgewater State claimed a 2-1 edge in the 31st minute. Robson Montrond headed home his second goal of the year after a long throw-in into the box by Justin Silva.
- The Bears tacked on their third goal of the day in the 69th minute to extend the margin to 3-1. Montrond netted his second goal of the match and third of the season while Colin Evans picked up his first assist.
- The hosts stretched their advantage to 5-1 with a pair of strikes in the 74th minute. David Nelson and Filippo Mucci each collected their first tallies of the fall.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Between the pipes, Erik Berg (Hadley, Mass.) registered five saves in the first half and Antonio Soto Valente (Maracaibo, Venezuela) recorded one save in the second half.
- Eastern Nazarene racked up shots on the afternoon while Bridgewater State finished with 22 attempts.
- The guests concluded the match with a 12-4 advantage in corner kicks earned.
