NORTH QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team rattled off its program-record eighth-consecutive victory Friday evening, downing Becker 1-0 under the lights at Creedon Field.
The Lions climb to 8-1-0 on the season and 2-0-0 in the New England Collegiate Conference with the win while also finishing the month of September with an unblemished 8-0-0 mark. The Hawks flutter to 1-8-0 overall and 0-2-0 in league action with the result.
The two teams battled to a scoreless opening frame with the home team holding a 9-2 advantage in first-half shots.
Eastern Nazarene seized a 1-0 edge in the 51st minute. Charlie Swann (London, England) collected his league-leading ninth goal of the fall, finishing off a low cross off the boot of Carlos Moya (Oviedo, Spain).
The Lions concluded the contest with 22 shots while Becker attempted nine on the night.
Junior Tyler Ferreira (Berkley, Mass.) registered three saves to earn his first clean sheet of the year.
