JOHNSON, Vt.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team topped Northern Vermont-Johnson 4-2 Tuesday afternoon in inter-conference action.
The Lions elevate to 2-6-0 on the season with the result while the Badgers slide to 5-3-0 overall.
The home side opened the scoring in the 10th minute to snag a 1-0 edge. Tristan Salgado netted his second goal of the season as Jarod Croteau provided the assist.
The visitors responded with a score in the 15th minute to level the match at 1-1. Prem Subedi (Scranton, Pa.) buried his first tally of the season off of an assist by Cyprian Okwaro (Randolph, Mass.).
Eastern Nazarene jumped ahead 2-1 in the 22nd minute. Connor Hudson-Bryant (Weymouth, Mass.) converted a penalty kick to collect his first marker of the fall.
Northern Vermont-Johnson equalized in the 28th minute to pull even at 2-2. Salgado notched his second goal of the game off of a feed by Rob Buonanno.
The Lions reclaimed a one-goal lead in the 32nd minute as Joao Costa (Framingham, Mass.) bagged his first tally of the year.
Eastern Nazarene posted five attempts in the first half while the Badgers fired four shots.
The guests added a goal in the 75th minute to double their lead to 4-2 as Jose Ruiz (Jerez de la Frontera, Spain) picked up his second marker of the season.
The Lions finished with 12 shots on the afternoon while Northern Vermont-Johnson generated nine.
Rookie goalkeeper Florian Resch (St. Stefan, Austria) recorded zero stops in his sixth start of the year.
