SOMERVILLE, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene men's soccer team absorbed a 3-0 non-conference loss to Suffolk at Dilboy Stadium Wednesday evening.
The Lions slip to 1-7-0 overall with the result while the Rams improve to 2-5-0 on the year.
Suffolk netted its first goal of the game in the 12th minute. Andres Cohen notched his fourth tally of the season, finishing a corner kick servicee from Tyler Parmalee.
Eastern Nazarene outshot the Rams in the first half 9-7 while the hosts held a 4-1 edge in corners earned.
In the second half, Suffolk doubled its lead to 2-0 in the 57th minute of play. Djibril Niang headed a cross from Jeff Williams into the back of the net for his first of the year.
The Rams added a goal in the waning minutes of the match to extend their advantage to 3-0. Parmalee buried his first marker of the season in the 88th minute, knocking in a feed from Aaron Haggas.
Suffolk concluded the game with a slight edge in shots, 18-17, while also owning an 8-2 gap in corner kicks.
Junior Scott Hansen (Middletown Spring, Vt.) paced the visitors with five shots in the contest, including four on target.
Jake Johnson (Mount Bethel, Pa.) stopped nine shots in goal for the Lions on the night.
