
Men’s Lacrosse Falls at New England College in NECC Championship Game
HENNIKER, N.H.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's lacrosse team suffered a 17-5 setback at New England College in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) championship clash Saturday. With their third consecutive NECC crown, the Pilgrims advance to take on the Colonial States Athletic Conference champion for a ticket to the NCAA Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- New England College controlled a slim 3-2 lead after the opening period of play.
- The Pilgrims tallied three goals in the second quarter while limiting the Lions to one score to hold a 6-3 advantage at the intermission.
- The home side chalked up six goals in the third to widen the gap to 12-3.
- Eastern Nazarene produced a pair of goals in the fourth frame and New England College netted five en route to capturing its third-straight NECC title.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Devano Clarke (Lucea, Jamaica) and Jamar Griggs (Stamford, Conn.) each notched two goals on the day.
- Andrew James (Hyannis, Mass.) finished with one goal and two assists.
- Matt Cawthorne (Norwell, Mass.) chipped in with one assist and a team-high five ground balls.
- Goalie Walter Stockwell (Hyde Park, Mass.) registered 23 saves in the contest.
- Eastern Nazarene fired 12 shots on the afternoon while New England College manufactured 65 attempts.
- Sam Crary posted four goals and one assist to pace the Pilgrims while Devon Saeger buried four goals and Thomas Norton added three goals and three assists.
