Men’s Lacrosse Downs Mitchell on Senior Night, 14-8
NORTH QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's lacrosse team notched a 14-8 win over Mitchell at Creedon Field Wednesday evening.

SENIOR NIGHT RECOGNITIONS:
Prior to the start of the game, the Eastern Nazarene men's lacrosse program honored its senior class: Funmbi Akinsanya (Baltimore, Md.), Clevince Bogle (Lowell, Mass.), Matt Cawthorne (Norwell, Mass.), Devano Clarke (Lucea, Jamaica), and Joey Depina (Whitman, Mass.).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Eastern Nazarene rattled off five goals in the opening quarter to claim a 5-0 lead through 15 minutes of action.
- The Lions poured in five goals in the second frame to widen the gap to 10-0 before the Mariners got on the board late in the period to trim the deficit to 10-1 at the half.
- The home side outscored the visitors 3-1 in the third to carry a 13-2 advantage into the fourth quarter.
- Mitchell tallied six goals in the final frame while Eastern Nazarene managed one goal to collect its third victory of the season.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Devano Clarke (Lucea, Jamaica) netted a career-high six goals while adding three assists and five ground balls.
- Matt Cawthorne (Norwell, Mass.) tallied a career-best five goals and posted a career-high five assists to go with 12 ground balls.
- Andrew James (Hyannis, Mass.) chipped in with one goal and one assist.
- Clevince Bogle (Lowell, Mass.) finished with 10 ground balls and 12 faceoff wins.
- Xavier Depina (Whitman, Mass.) registered six ground balls and five caused-turnovers.
- Netminder Walter Stockwell (Hyde Park, Mass.) racked up 10 saves between the pipes.
- Eastern Nazarene manufactured a season-high 60 shots while limiting Mitchell to 35 attempts on the night.
- Weston Schumacher paced the Mariners with three goals and three assists while Xavier Haney contributed three goals.
