Men’s Lacrosse Drops Season-Opener to Husson, 12-4
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's lacrosse team absorbed a 12-4 loss to Husson Thursday evening at Veterans Memorial Stadium in the first game of the 2023 campaign. The game marked the head coaching debut of Lions' head coach Ron Hamwey.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Husson tallied four goals in the opening quarter to claim a 4-0 lead.
- The Eagles produced one score in the second frame to widen the margin to 5-0 at the break.
- The visitors manufactured five goals in the third while Eastern Nazarene posted a pair of goals as Husson owned a 10-2 advantage heading into the final period.
- Both squads scored twice in the fourth quarter as the Eagles earned a 12-4 season-opening victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Jamar Griggs (Stamford, Conn.) netted a team-high three goals in his seventh career multi-goal game.
- Andrew James (Hyannis, Mass.) chalked up one goal while Devano Clarke (Lucea, Jamaica) added one assist in the contest.
- Xavier Depina (Whitman, Mass.) finished with five ground balls and four caused turnovers while Kellen Lee (Henderson, Nev.) posted five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
- Walter Stockwell (Hyde Park, Mass.) registered 20 saves in his first career start between the pipes.
- Eastern Nazarene managed 30 shots in the game while Husson racked up 50 shot attempts.
- Danny Carter paced Husson with four goals and one assist while Bryce DeRonda and Sean Lyne both recorded two goals and one assist on the night.
