Men’s Golf Sits Eighth After Rain-Shortened Opening Round at MASCAC Championships
PITTSFIELD, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's golf team sits in eighth-place after day one at the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Championships. The golfers played just nine holes at Berkshire Hills Country Club in the opening round due to heavy precipitation.
The Lions posted a team-score of 204, 17 strokes back from MCLA in seventh-place.
Matt Cawthorne (Norwell, Mass.) fired a 47 while Chris Jaskiewicz (Oakdale, Conn.) and Nick Thibeau (Spencerport, N.Y.) both carded a 50. Brandon Brown (Oxford, Pa.) turned in a mark of 57 and Jimmy Keuther (Marshfield, Mass.) finished with a 58.
Salem State's Brian Cannata leads the individual standings with a 37 on the opening round. The Vikings sit atop the team leaderboard with a combined score of 158.
The MASCAC Championships will conclude October 5 at Berkshire Hills Country Club.
