Aaron Loredo Appointed Head Men’s Basketball Coach

QUINCY, Mass.-  Eastern Nazarene College Director of Athletics Dr. Brad Zarges has announced the hiring of Aaron Loredo as head men's basketball coach. Loredo becomes the 15th head coach in the program's 67-year history.

"I am grateful to be named the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Eastern Nazarene College. I would like to thank Athletic Director Dr. Brad Zarges, and the entire search committee for giving me the opportunity to lead this program. I cannot wait to get started!" commented Loredo.

"We are very excited to welcome Coach Loredo as our men's basketball coach. As an assistant at several highly successful and respected Division III programs, Aaron has been mentored by excellent coaches with progressively increasing responsibilities. His passion for the sport is only exceeded by his desire to invest in the lives of the student-athletes within our Christian college context. He possesses an astute awareness of the importance of the student-athlete experience, while also bringing a quiet intensity to develop competitors who will realize success through collective team effort," commented Zarges.

Loredo arrives at Eastern Nazarene following two years as an assistant coach at Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts. He helped the Gulls post a 30-21 record with a pair of Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament appearances in two seasons. Loredo was responsible for recruiting, film breakdown, scouting reports, player development, as well as managing the program's social media efforts.

At Endicott, Loredo coordinated the department's "Black History Month Game" as the Gulls' men's and women's basketball teams hosted Nichols February 1. He also spearheaded fundraising efforts to support BIPOC students at Endicott by selling t-shirts with "EQUALITY" emblazoned on the front.

Prior to his stint at Endicott, Loredo served as an assistant coach at Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts from 2019-2021. He was in charge of recruiting, video coordination, player development, practice planning, and social media. During his time at Nichols, the Bison compiled a 26-14 record in and claimed the 2020 Commonwealth Coast Conference Regular Season and Tournament championships en route to a trip to the NCAA Tournament second round.

Loredo also spent one year as an assistant coach at Salem State University where he helped the Vikings capture the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Regular Season and Tournament championships along with a berth to the NCAA Tournament.

Loredo graduated from Salem State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport & Movement Science with a concentration in Sport Management while also minoring in Spanish. He went on to earn his Master's degree from Nichols College in Organizational Leadership.
