Men’s Basketball Edged at Wheaton Monday, 66-63
NORTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's basketball team dropped a narrow 66-63 decision at Wheaton Monday night.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Wheaton built up a seven-point lead with 11:20 remaining in the first half, 19-12, on a layup by Aaron Williams.
- Eastern Nazarene seized a 21-20 edge as Levi White knocked down a jumper with 6:10 left to play in the opening frame.
- The visitors clung to a 27-26 lead at the midway point of the contest.
- Wheaton reclaimed a seven-point advantage, 49-42, on a basket by Aaron Williams.
- A bucket by Bernie McGuinness (Cumming, Ga.) with 2:58 on the clock capped off a 12-0 run and pushed the Lions ahead 59-53.
- The home side captured a 61-59 lead on two free throws by Alex Carlisle with 1:08 to go in the game.
- Corey McGhee (Alexandria, Va.) converted a pair of free throws to knot the score at 63-63 with 11 seconds remaining in regulation.
- Aaron Williams drilled a buzzer-beating three-pointer to give Wheaton a 66-63 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Corey McGhee (Alexandria, Va.) netted a season-high 17 points and grabbed five boards.
- Bernie McGuinness (Cumming, Ga.) tallied 16 points and nine rebounds.
- Kobe Jones (Picayune, Miss.) scored 11 points off the bench while JaWaun Moore (Dayton, Ohio) added 10 points, four boards, and four assists.
- Eastern Nazarene shot 40.7% from the floor and 40% from the three-point line on the night.
- Wheaton finished with a field-goal percentage of 41.4% while connecting on 8-of-29 from beyond the arc.
- Aaron Williams posted a double-double for the Lyons with 16 points and 13 rebounds while Alex Carlisle also poured in 16 points and Ty Murphy chipped in with 11 points.
