Men’s Hoops Earns Hard-Fought 60-57 Win Over Salve Regina in Season-Opener
QUINCY, Mass.- Senior Nick Manso (Brick, N.J.) drilled a go-ahead three-pointer in the final minute to lift the Eastern Nazarene College men's basketball team to a 60-57 victory in the first contest of the 2022-23 season at the Lahue Athletic Center

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After a slow start and a back-and-forth first half, Salve Regina clung to a 30-26 lead at the midway point of the game.
- Eastern Nazarene snagged a 37-36 edge with 12:41 remaining in regulation on a bucket by Levi White (Springfield, Mass.) before a trey by Kobe Jones (Picayune, Miss.) pushed the lead to 40-36 with 12:15 on the clock.
- The Lions leveled the score at 57-57 with 1:29 to go as White banked in a layup.
- Nick Manso (Brick, N.J.) splashed a straight-away three-pointer with 46 seconds left to play to vault the home team into the lead 60-57.
- Two gritty defensive stops by Eastern Nazarene staved off the Seahawks as the Lions secured the season-opening win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Bernie McGuinness (Cumming, Ga.) poured in a game-high 18 points while hauling in six rebounds.
- Levi White (Springfield, Mass.) notched a double-double on the night, netting 10 points and grabbing 10 boards.
- Corey McGhee (Alexandria,Va.) chipped in with 10 points, four rebounds, and four assists.
- Rookie Kobe Jones (Picayune,Miss.) added eight points off the bench.
- Eastern Nazarene shot 40% from the floor and connected on 8-of-27 from beyond the arc.
- Salve Regina finished with a field-goal percentage of 38.9% to go with 33.3% shooting from three-point range.
