
Baseball Suffers Two Setbacks to SUNY Cobleskill
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College baseball team absorbed a pair of one-run losses to SUNY Cobleskill Friday at Adams Field, falling 9-8 and 10-9.
GAME ONE
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Eastern Nazarene tallied three runs in the top of the first inning to seize a 3-0 lead. Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.) crossed the dish as O'Neil Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.) reached base on an error. Eduardo Labour (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) roped a two-out double to left-centerfield to drive in O'Neil Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.) and Frank Landeiro (Orlando, Fla.).
- SUNY Cobleskill responded with one run in the bottom of the first to cut the deficit to 3-1.
- The Lions tacked on two runs in the third to widen the gap to 5-1. Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.) motored home from second base as Anderson Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.) reached on an error. Eduardo Labour (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) landed a single in centerfield to knock in Anderson Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.).
- The Fighting Tigers manufactured seven runs in the fifth inning to claim a 9-5 advantage.
- Eastern Nazarene scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to narrow the margin to 9-8. Brandon Mercado (Stoughton, Mass.) crossed the dish on a defensive miscue. Elvis Rojas (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) launched his second home run of the year, a two-run blast to plate Kelvin Cortez (Corona, N.Y.).

Elvis Rojas (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) scampered home from second base on a failed pickoff attempt. O'Neil Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.) belted his second homer of the season, a two-run shot to drive in Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.).
- SUNY Cobleskill scored twice in the third inning to trim the deficit to 3-2.
- The Lions added five runs in the fourth to stretch their lead to 8-2.
- The visitors produced three runs in the top of the fifth to narrow the gap to 8-5.
- SUNY Cobleskill generated four runs in the sixth inning to seize a 9-8 edge.
- Eastern Nazarene responded with one run in the home half of the sixth to knot the game at 9-9. O'Neil Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.) raked a single up the middle to score Elvis Rojas (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) from third base.
- The Fighting Tigers produced the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh to capture a 10-9 lead.
