Baseball Drops Midweek Tilt at Saint Joseph (Conn.), 7-2
WEST HARTFORD, Conn.- The Eastern Nazarene College baseball team suffered a 7-2 setback at Saint Joseph (Conn.) Wednesday afternoon.
THE BASICS:
Score: Eastern Nazarene 2, Saint Joseph (Conn.) 7
Records: Lions (6-15-1) | Blue Jays (12-16-1)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Saint Joseph opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning to seize a 1-0 edge.
- Eastern Nazarene tallied a run in the third to level the contest at 1-1.
- The Lions plated one run in the top of the fourth to claim a 2-1 lead.
- The Blue Jays responded with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to capture a 4-2 advantage.
- Saint Joseph tacked on a run in the fifth to widen the gap to 5-2.
- The home side added a pair of runs in the eighth inning to stretch its lead to 7-2.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.) notched two hits, and one RBI.
- O'Neil Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.) finished with one hit and one run scored.
- Elvis Rojas (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) scored a run and stole his 12th base of the year.
- Colby Rohr (Highland Village, Texas) tossed three innings and posted three strikeouts. Michael Monteforte (Wilmington, Mass.) worked three innings and fanned three batters in his fifth appearance out of the bullpen. Andiover Feliz (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) threw two innings and recorded two strikeouts in his collegiate pitching debut.

Eastern Nazarene resumes North Atlantic Conference play April 19 with a doubleheader against SUNY Cobleskill.
