
Rojas, Ferguson Garner North Atlantic Conference Baseball Weekly Awards
WATERVILLE, Maine- Sophomore Elvis Rojas (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) and senior Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.) of the Eastern Nazarene College baseball team earned North Atlantic Conference Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week accolades, respectively, announced the league office Monday.
Rojas batted .588 in a 2-2 week for the Lions. He notched 10 hits, seven RBIs, six runs scored and three stolen bases.
The spring, he leads the team with 21 base knocks, nine RBIs, nine runs scored, and five stolen bases. Rojas owns a .477 batting average with a .591 slugging percentage and a .478 on-base percentage.
Ferguson tossed a complete-game shutout to propel the Lions to their first win of the season, a 5-0 victory over SUNY Poly in the first conference game of the spring. The southpaw scattered three hits and a pair of walks while racking up 12 strikeouts in seven innings.
In three starts on the mound this year, Ferguson owns a 1-1 record and has registered 27 strikeouts.
Eastern Nazarene boasts a 2-8 overall record with a 2-1 mark in North Atlantic Conference competition. The Lions visit Curry March 18 in non-league action.
