Baseball Downed by Neumann, 11-2
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.- The Eastern Nazarene College baseball team suffered an 11-2 setback to Neumann Friday night.
THE BASICS:
Score: Eastern Nazarene 2, Neumann 11
Records: Lions (0-6) | Knights (5-3)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Lions plated one run in the top of the first to grab an early 1-0 edge.
- Eastern Nazarene added a run in the third inning to double its lead to 2-0.
- Neumann manufactured three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to seize a 3-2 advantage.
- The Knights tallied seven runs in the seventh to stretch the margin to 10-2.
- Neumann tacked on a run in the eighth inning to extend its lead to 11-2.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- O'Neil Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.) and Eduardo Labour (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) both finished with two hits and one RBI.
- Anderson Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.) scored a pair of runs.
- Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.) pitched six innings and recorded nine strikeouts in his second start of the year. Kelvin Cortez (Corona, N.Y.) tossed two innings of relief and notched three strikeouts.
