
Francis Ferguson Named to D3Baseball.com Preseason All-America First Team
QUINCY, Mass.- Senior Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.) of the Eastern Nazarene College baseball team garnered D3Baseball.com Preseason All-America first team accolades, as the organization unveiled its Preseason All-America Teams Tuesday.
Ferguson earned American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-America second team honors and D3Baseball.com All-America third team laurels at the end of last season. He was voted the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Pitcher of the Year to go with New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA), D3Baseball.com, and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region first team honors.
At the dish, Ferguson posted a .429 batting average with a .588 slugging percentage. He also paced the squad with 51 hits while adding 33 runs scored, 31 RBIs, and 15 stolen bases.
On the mound, Ferguson started 10 games and finished the year with a 7-2 record with four complete games. He owned a 2.06 ERA and ranked second on the pitching staff with 90 strikeouts in 65.2 innings.
Last spring, Eastern Nazarene finished with a 26-14 overall record and reached the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Tournament championship game.
Ferguson spent last summer with the Vermont Lake Monsters of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL). He was tabbed the FCBL Pitcher of the Year and received All-FCBL first team honors after posting a 6-1 record with a league-best 2.25 ERA. Ferguson also racked up 50 strikeouts in 52 innings of action.
