Francis Ferguson Collects D3Baseball.com, ABCA/Rawlings All-America Accolades
QUINCY, Mass.- Junior Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.) of the Eastern Nazarene College baseball team hauled in American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-America second team honors as well as D3Baseball.com All-America third team laurels, becoming the first student-athlete in program history to earn All-America accolades.
Ferguson was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Pitcher of the Year to go with All-NECC and NECC All-Tournament nods. He also earned a spot on the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA), D3Baseball.com, and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region first teams this spring.
At the dish, the junior posted a .429 batting average with a .588 slugging percentage. He paced the squad with 51 hits while adding 33 runs scored, 31 RBIs, and 15 stolen bases.
Ferguson started 10 games on the mound and finished the year with a 7-2 record with four complete games. He owned a 2.06 ERA and ranked second on the pitching staff with 90 strikeouts in 65.2 innings.
Eastern Nazarene concluded the 2023 campaign with a 26-14 overall record and a 6-6 mark in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC). The Lions reached the NECC championship series this spring for the first time in program history.
