
Baseball Sweeps NECC Weekly Accolades
MANSFIELD, Mass.- Senior Brandon Guerrero (Boston, Mass.), junior Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.), and freshman Elvis Rojas (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) of the Eastern Nazarene College baseball team have been selected as the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, and Rookie of the Week, respectively, announced the league office Monday.
Guerrero racked up seven hits, nine RBIs, four runs scored, and a stolen base in a 3-1 week for the Lions. He posted six RBIs, two hits, and a pair of runs scored as Eastern Nazarene clobbered Curry 29-2.
Ferguson tossed his third straight complete-game shutout to propel the Lions to a 10-0 victory over Lesley. The southpaw registered nine strikeouts in seven innings of action while scattering just three hits and zero walks.
This spring, Ferguson owns a 5-1 record in seven starts on the mound with three complete games. He has pitched 45.0 innings and recorded 67 strikeouts to go with a league-best 1.40 ERA.
Rojas collected five hits, five RBIs, eight runs scored, and one stolen base on the week. He has tallied 29 base knocks, 23 runs scored, 16 RBIs, and 18 stolen bases this season.
Eastern Nazarene sports a 22-6 overall record and a 5-3 mark in NECC competition. The Lions return to action April 20 with a road contest at Rivier.
