Spencer Boynton Tabbed NECC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

MANSFIELD, Mass.- Sophomore Spencer Boynton (Tampa, Fla.) of the Eastern Nazarene College baseball team has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season, announced the league office Monday.

Boynton tossed his fourth straight complete game as the Lions topped Lesley 10-2 in the first conference game of the year. The sophomore fanned a season-best 13 batters while scattering three walks and one hit.

This season, Boynton boasts a 1.93 ERA with 41 strikeouts in 32.2 innings of work. He owns a 4-0 record in five starts on the mound.

Eastern Nazarene sports a 16-3 overall record with a 1-0 mark in NECC competition. The Lions are riding an NCAA Division III-best 13-game winning-streak.

Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene travels to Mass. Maritime March 28 for a non-league tilt.
