
Landeiro, Weast Collect NECC Baseball Weekly Awards
MANSFIELD, Mass.- Sophomore Frank Landeiro (Orlando, Fla.) and graduate student Morgan Weast (Cincinnati, Ohio) of the Eastern Nazarene College baseball team picked up New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week accolades, respectively, announced the league office Monday.
The duo helped the Lions rack up a 5-0 record on the week.
Landeiro registered a hit and a run in all five games this week and posted an RBI in four contests. He posted 10 base knocks, eight RBIs, seven runs scored, and five stolen bases.
He leads the conference with 15 RBIs, 14 base hits, 12 runs scored, and nine stolen bases this season.
Weast tossed 10.2 innings spanning three games on the week and recorded 16 strikeouts. The southpaw finished with a 2-0 record and one save while scattering just three hits and one earned run.
This spring, Weast ranks second in the league with 17.2 innings pitched and third in the NECC with 23 strikeouts. He boasts a 3-1 record on the mound with one save in two starts and three relief appearances.
Eastern Nazarene owns an 8-3 record and is slated to host Gordon March 18.
