Baseball Sunk by Coast Guard Sunday, 9-4
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.- The Eastern Nazarene College baseball team endured a 9-4 setback to Coast Guard Sunday afternoon.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Coast Guard chalked up one run in the bottom of the second inning to snag a 1-0 edge.
- Eastern Nazarene produced three runs in the top of the fourth to grab a 3-1 advantage. Jaime Roldan (Boston, Mass.) crossed the dish as Anderson Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.) reached on a fielding error. Ethaniel Almendarez (Lynn, Mass.) followed with a base knock to drive in Frank Landeiro (Orlando, Fla.) and Eduardo Labour (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic).
- The Bears scored four runs in the home half of the fourth to reclaim the lead, 5-3. Parker Madden belted a grand slam down the left field line to plate Greg Boland, John Carroll, and Tyler Michalek.
- The Lions manufactured one run in the fifth frame to cut the deficit to 5-4. Shane McNamara (Londonderry, N.H.) raked a single to right field to knock in Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.) from second base.
- Coast Guard tallied four runs in the bottom of the fifth to widen the margin to 9-4.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Ethaniel Almendarez (Lynn, Mass.) drove in a pair of RBIs and landed one hit.
- Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.), Jaime Roldan (Boston, Mass.), and Eduardo Labour (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) all posted one base hit and scored one run.
- Shane McNamara (Londonderry, N.H.) added one hit and one RBI.
- In his first start of the spring, Jon Tessier (Coronado, Calif.) pitched four innings and finished with five strikeouts. Kelvin Cortez (Corona, N.Y.) hurled four scoreless innings and allowed one hit while fanning two batters in his first relief outing of the season.
