Baseball Clipped by Penn State-Berks, 6-3
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.- The Eastern Nazarene College baseball team suffered a 6-3 setback to Penn State-Berks Saturday evening.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Penn State-Berks posted three runs in the bottom of the first to capture a 3-0 lead.
- Eastern Nazarene tallied one run in the top of the second inning to narrow the gap to 3-1. Ruddy Vidal (Barahona, Dominican Republic) singled to drive in Eduardo Labour (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) from second base.
- The Nittany Lions scored once in the home half of the second to regain a three-run advantage, 4-1.
- Penn State-Berks tacked on a run in the fourth inning to widen the margin to 5-1.
- The Lions picked up a pair of runs in the seventh to cut the deficit to 5-3. Frank Landeiro (Orlando, Fla.) lifted a sacrifice fly to centerfield to plate Cam Barry (Manchester, Conn.) from third base. Juan Jacobo Lopez (San Diego, Calif.) motored home from third on an errant pick-off throw to first base.
- The Nittany Lions chalked up one run in the bottom of the seventh frame to stretch their lead to 6-3.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Tyler Bean (Wellington, Fla.) collected a pair of base hits and one stolen bag.
- Ruddy Vidal (Barahona, Dominican Republic) notched one hit and one RBI.
- Eduardo Labour (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) added one base knock and one run scored.
- Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.) threw five innings and racked up seven strikeouts in his second start of the season. David Carey (Greenfield, Mass.) worked two innings of relief and fanned four batters in his first collegiate appearance on the mound. Dale Beneway (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) tossed one inning in his team-leading third outing of the spring and registered one strikeout.
