HENNIKER, N.H.- The No. 3 seed Eastern Nazarene College baseball team suffered a narrow 1-0 setback to second-seeded Mitchell in a New England Collegiate Conference Tournament elimination game Saturday.
The Lions conclude the 2022 campaign with a 21-19-1 overall record. The Mariners improve to 28-11 on the season and advance to their ninth-consecutive NECC championship series.
Steven Pesce (Harrison, N.Y.) racked up three hits on the day while Tyler Bean (Wellington, Fla.) chipped in with one base knock.
Mitchell chalked up the contest's lone run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Juan Abreu laced a two-out single to right field to drive in Lelo Martinez from third base.
Rookie Spencer Boynton (Tampa, Fla.) tossed his third complete game of the season and finished with two strikeouts while scattering two hits.
