
Steven Pesce Garners CCC Baseball Player of the Week Accolades
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Sophomore Steven Pesce (Harrison, N.Y.) of the Eastern Nazarene College baseball team has been tabbed the Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week, announced the league office Monday.
Pesce propelled the Lions to a season-opening doubleheader sweep of Houghton in Fort Pierce, Florida.
The sophomore batted .625 from the dish on opening day with five hits, five runs, and three RBIs.
In Eastern Nazarene's 15-5 victory over Houghton, Pesce went 4-for-4 from the plate with a pair of doubles, three RBIs, and four runs scored.
He added a base knock and crossed the dish once in the Lions' 7-2 win over the Highlanders in game two of the twinbill.
Pesce also compiled an unblemished fielding-percentage of 1.000 with six putouts on the weekend.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene returns to the diamond March 5 to square off against Geneva.
