
Baseball Releases 2017 Schedule
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College baseball team has released its 40-game schedule for the 2017 campaign.
The Lions, picked ninth in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Preseason Poll released Tuesday, will play 25 contests at home this spring at the friendly confines of Adams Field.
Eastern Nazarene opens the 2017 season in Fort Pierce, Florida March 7 through 13 with games against Geneva, Hilbert, Elizabethtown, Bethany (W.V.), and Gettysburg.
Upon their return to the Bay State, the Lions home-opener is slated for March 16 – a doubleheader against former conference foe Anna Maria. Eastern Nazarene will continue a string of seven home games in a row with non-league clashes against Emerson, Lyndon State, Rivier, and Southern Vermont.
The Lions kick off their Commonwealth Coast Conference slate March 25 with a twinbill at Endicott.
Eastern Nazarene will host a two-game set against Nichols March 31 before traveling to Newport, Rhode Island for a doubleheader at Salve Regina April 1.
After non-conference tilts against Rivier and Lesley, the Lions will visit Curry April 7 and Roger Williams April 8 for Commonwealth Coast Conference twinbills.
Eastern Nazarene will square off against Newbury at home April 11, travel to Becker April 14, and host Maine-Presque Isle April 15.
The Lions head to Lesley April 20 for a nine-inning affair before returning to conference competition with two home games against Wentworth.
Eastern Nazarene will host Tufts before wrapping up league play with home doubleheaders against Western New England April 28 and Gordon April 29.
Head coach Kameron Konert enters his first season managing the Lions' baseball club.
Junior pitcher Brent Houle (Westfield, Mass.) returns after earning All-Commonwealth Coast Conference third team honors last spring. Houle posted a 5-2 record on the mound with a 1.51 ERA and 28 strikeouts.
Eastern Nazarene finished with a 15-24 overall record in 2016 and a 2-14 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.
