Brenda Henley (76) came to ENC and she had no idea where it would take her. In P.E. class she played volleyball, and Annie Albertson approached her with an invitation to come to volleyball tryouts. Being a part of this team, coached by Nancy Detwiler, for the next four years gave her a foundation for the rest of her career. They lost only four matches the first two years and were undefeated her junior and senior years. It was not just about the great wins, but about the disciplines learned that she has carried with her.

On the volleyball court, she was an outstanding offensive player with devastating spikes. In basketball, she was a strong rebounder and was recognized as the most improved player.
