ENC Lions Garner 43 CCC Academic All-Conference Accolades
SPRINGFIELD, MA- The Eastern Nazarene College Lions collected 43 Academic All-Conference honors by 38 student-athletes in 2011-12, as announced Friday afternoon by the Commonwealth Coast Conference.
SPRINGFIELD, MA- The Eastern Nazarene College Lions collected 43 Academic All-Conference honors by 38 student-athletes in 2011-12, as announced Friday afternoon by the Commonwealth Coast Conference.
The Lions’ men’s soccer and women’s soccer teams led the way with eight honorees each. The Eastern Nazarene women’s cross country, men’s tennis and women’s tennis squads all boasted five student-athletes on the TCCC Academic All-Conference team.
The Commonwealth Coast Conference recognized a total of 498
student-athletes from the 10 member institutions.
Among the 38 Lions honored were all-conference performers
Brandon Lum (Great Neck, N.Y.), Austin
Steelman (Darlington, Md.) and Kara Webber
(Marshfield, Mass.).
Steelman was tabbed the TCCC Men’s Tennis Co-Player of the Year this spring and earned first team all-conference accolades in singles and partnered with Lum to capture first team plaudits in doubles action. Webber claimed a spot on the women’s soccer All-TCCC second team in the fall.
The Academic All-Conference Team consists of any starter or significant reserve who has attained at least sophomore status and has maintained an overall minimum GPA of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00.
