Eastern Nazarene's Rev. Dr. Jack Connell Named Chair of NECC Presidents' Council
MANSFIELD, Mass. - Eastern Nazarene College President Rev. Dr. Jack Connell has been named the chair of the New England Collegiate Conference Presidents Council for the 2021-22 academic year. Connell succeeds former Becker College President Dr. Nancy Crimmin in the role.
"I am a strong advocate for college athletics and consider it a privilege to support our Commissioner, our Conference, and our student-athletes in this role," said Dr. Connell.
Dr. Connell became the 14th president of Eastern Nazarene in 2018. He served previously as Provost and Dean of the Faculty at Houghton College, Executive Vice President at Roberts Wesleyan College, Vice President of Northeastern Seminary, and as the senior pastor of a large and growing congregation.
Dr. Connell earned a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership from the University of Rochester Warner School of Education, a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership and Biblical Preaching and a Master of Divinity from the Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Houghton College.
"Working with Dr. Connell is truly a pleasure," said NECC Commissioner Jacob VanRyn. "His commitment to the NECC and it's student-athletes is remarkable. I can say that throughout my professional career, I have never seen a college president attend as many sporting events as Dr. Connell. I am extremely lucky to work so closely with someone that is so committed to the conference and it's student-athletes."
