
Eastern Nazarene Wins July NCAA Division III Special Olympics Spotlight Poll
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College Athletic Department was declared the winner of the NCAA Division III Special Olympics Spotlight Poll following daily voting throughout the month of July.
Eastern Nazarene was nominated for the national poll for the ENC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosting Special Olympics Unified Basketball games February 1, 2020.
Voting ran from July 1 through July 25. Eastern Nazarene garnered 77.3% of the votes, amassing 350 total votes. With the victory, the Eastern Nazarene Athletic Department will receive $500 to go towards its next Special Olympics event.
"I am so proud of our student-athletes and their efforts to serve our community. This is by far my favorite event of the year and to be recognized for it is just and extra bonus," commented Associate Director of Athletics and SAAC Advisor Toni Kabilian. "The student-athletes, faculty, staff, and campus community take great joy in participating in this event and we look forward to the opportunity to organize another event in the future."
