Kingsley Claims Runner & Rookie of the Year Honors to Lead Women’s Cross Country to Fourth-Place Finish at NECC Championships
WESTFIELD, Mass.- Rodelina Kingsley (Lawrence, Mass.) captured the individual crown to help the Eastern Nazarene College women's cross country team place fourth at the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championships at Stanley Park Sunday.
Kingsley was named the NECC Runner of the Year and Rookie of the Year while also garnering a spot on the All-Conference first team and the Del Malloy Sportsmanship Team. She becomes the program's second-ever individual conference champion, joining Rachelle Leger who placed first at the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship meet in 1995. Kingsley bested the 41-runner field with a time of 21:10 Sunday.
Adele Duval (Redding, Calif.) crossed the finish line in 24:30 in her first race of the year.
Katherine Sautter (Quincy, Mass.) posted a mark of 25:57 while Annelise Sherrill (Elk Grove, Calif.) finished one second later.
Makayla Grantham (Appalachian, N.Y.) and Elizabeth Gillis (Westford, Mass.) also represented the Lions at the meet.
Elms earned its first-ever NECC Championship while Lesley grabbed second and Newbury finished third.
