Women’s Cross Country Earns 8th at CCC Championships Saturday
BIDDEFORD, Maine- The Eastern Nazarene women's cross country team closed out the 2013 campaign with an eighth place finish at the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championships hosted by the University of New England at Rotary Park Saturday afternoon.
The Lions were led by Jessica Donovan (East Taunton, Mass.) with a time of 29:39.4, good for 68th place.
Emily Ansel (Lititz, Pa.) crossed the finish line in 30:12.2 while Dezirae Maffit (Aurora, Ill.) and Katherine Smith (Littleton, Mass.) finished back-to-back. Maffit and Smith posted times of 33:02 and 33:04, respectively.
The women's 6K race featured a field of 122 runners representing nine schools.
The host Nor'easters earned their second straight Commonwealth Coast Conference crown with seven runners in the top 25.
Hannah Zydanowicz from Roger Williams posted the fastest time on the day to claim the individual title, clocking in with a time of 23:15.
