Women’s Cross Country Runs at 7th Annual Emmanuel Saints Invitational
BOSTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene women's cross country team garnered 11th place at the seventh annual Emmanuel College Saints Invitational Friday at Franklin Park.
The Lions were one of 14 teams competing in the 5K event.
Jessica Donovan (East Taunton, Mass.) was the first Eastern Nazarene runner to cross the finish line, posting a time of 23:24 to earn 65th place.
Katherine Smith (Littleton, Mass.) claimed 93rd place with a mark of 24:44. Jill Russell (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) and Emily Ansel (Lititz, Pa.) finished back-to-back with times of 24:48 and 24:49, respectively.
Taylor Corbin (Honesdale, Pa.) turned in a time of 25:07 while Dezirae Maffit (Aurora, Ill.) finished the race in 25:15 and Amy Cornell (Bolton, Conn.) ran the 5K course in 26:58.
Wheaton College won the team crown Friday, placing four runners in the top five. Marina Capalbo from Babson College turned in the fastest time of the day, 19:29, to take home the individual title.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene will compete at the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championships November 2. The league meet will be hosted by the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine.
