Women’s Cross Country Races at Gordon Pop Crowell Invitational
WENHAM, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene women's cross country team competed at the 42nd annual Gordon Pop Crowell Invitational Saturday afternoon.
The Lions were one of 16 teams represented at the event which featured a field of 177 runners.
Jessica Donovan (East Taunton, Mass.) was Eastern Nazarene's top finisher, turning in a time of 25:01.
Jill Russell (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) crossed the finish line in 25:38 while Taylor Corbin (Honesdale, Pa.) posted a mark of 26:28. Emily Ansel (Lititz, Pa.) finished the race in 27:10 and Katherine Smith (Littleton, Mass.) was close behind with a time of 27:27. Amy Cornell (Bolton, Conn.) recorded a mark of 27-50 while Dezirae Maffit (Aurora, Ill.) clocked in a 28:26.
The University of New England's Brittany Sorbello captured the individual crown with a time of 20:16, edging Lena White from Georgia College by one second.
The Nor'easters took home the team title after placing seven in the top-15.
Up next, the Lions head west to compete in the Elms Blazers Invitational September 28.
