Women's Cross Country Races to Fifth-Place Finish in Opening Meet of 2012
BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. ââ¬â The Eastern Nazarene College womenââ¬â¢s cross country team captured fifth place at the Massachusetts Maritime Lt. Travis J. Fuller Invitational Saturday morning.
BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. – The Eastern Nazarene College women's cross country team captured fifth place at the Massachusetts Maritime Lt. Travis J. Fuller Invitational Saturday morning. The Lions edged out Mount Ida, Rivier and the host Buccaneers.
Junior Ami Curtis (East Montpelier, Vt.) crossed the finish line in 21:06, good for seventh to lead Eastern Nazarene.
Taylor Quint (Hodgdon, Maine) claimed 25th with a time of 24:21 while Taylor Corbin (Honesdale, Pa.) and Amy Cornell (Bolton, Conn.) clocked in just 13 seconds apart to place 33rd and 35th, respectively.
Emerson took home the team title as five runners placed in the top 15.
Jackie Bellisari of SUNY-Maritime captured the individual crown Saturday with a mark of 20:20.
The Lions will be back in action September 15 to compete at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational.
