Women’s Volleyball’s Aguilar, Baran, Graves Garner NEWVA Accolades
BEVERLY, Mass.- Ruth Aguilar (Tegucigalpa, Honduras), Eliana Baran (Beaumont, Calif.), and Emma Graves (Berkshire, N.Y.) of the Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team all received All-New England honorable mention as the New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA) announced its postseason honors. Aguilar collected NEWVA All-Senior accolades while Baran was selected to the NEWVA All-Rookie team and Graves earned All-Rookie honorable mention. The three Lions were the only New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) student-athletes recognized by the organization.
Aguilar was tabbed to the All-New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) team this fall after finishing with a conference-high 622 assists. She also chipped in with 142 digs, 46 kills, 44 blocks, and 11 service aces.
Baran was named the NECC Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year while also collecting All-NECC honors. She racked up a league-best 322 kills on the season and added 135 digs. This fall, Baran was named the NECC Player of the Week once and garnered three Rookie of the Week nods.
On November 3, she became the first student-athlete in program history to receive AVCA/Sports Imports Division III National Player of the Week laurels after posting 35 kills as Eastern Nazarene swept Mitchell in the 2021 regular-season finale.
A four-time NECC Rookie of the Week, Graves garnered All-NECC accolades this season and ranked third in the conference with 300 kills and paced the NECC with 93 blocks.
Eastern Nazarene concluded the 2021 campaign with a 17-11 overall record. The Lions captured their second-straight New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) championship and earned their second-consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.
