Women’s Volleyball Suffers 3-1 Setback to Salve Regina
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team absorbed a 3-1 loss to Salve Regina Thursday evening at the Lahue Athletic Center.
The Lions slip to 13-10 on the season with the result while the Seahawks improve to 12-8 overall.
Eliana Baran (Beaumont, Calif.) posted a team-high 16 kills while adding three blocks. Emma Graves (Berkshire, N.Y.) tallied eight kills and racked up eight total blocks. Ruth Aguilar (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) notched 29 assists, 11 digs, and five blocks on the night. Jessica Caldwell (Quincy, Mass.) recorded 13 digs and Fiona Shaw (Whitinsville, Mass.) chipped in with 12 digs.
The visitors captured the opening set 25-12 to grab a 1-0 edge.
The hosts roared back with a 25-11 win in the second frame to level the match at 1-1.
Salve Regina reclaimed a one-set advantage, 2-1, with a narrow 25-23 decision in the third.
The Seahawks prevailed 25-14 in the fourth set to secure their third-consecutive victory.
Nicole Karabaich registered a match-high 17 kills while Madison Lee collected 11 kills and 10 digs. Katelyn O'Brien finished with 37 assists and 15 digs. Kate Murphy notched 23 digs and Morgan Lee contributed with 13 digs.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene travels to St. Joseph's (Maine) in the final regular-season road contest October 26.
