Women’s Tennis Swept at Simmons
BRIGHTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's tennis team fell at Simmons 9-0 Wednesday afternoon.
The Lions progress to 2-7 overall and 2-3 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) with the outcome. The Sharks elevate to 7-3 on the season and 5-1 in league competition with the win.
Maria Busila (Malaga, Spain) and Katie Cawthorne (Norwell, Mass.) suffered an 8-3 setback at the No. 1 doubles position to Olga Zhizhin and Leah Bonis.
Jenna Schlosser (Bridgewater, Mass.) and Kari Bollinger (Alton Bay, N.H.) dropped an 8-1 decision to Megan McKeever and Sarah Mariski at the second spot.
Mya Landry (Derry, N.H.) and Krista Signs (Mashpee, Mass.) absorbed an 8-0 loss at the third slot to Libby Weed and Avery Halloran.
Simmons rolled to straight-set victories in all six singles matches to secure its fourth-consecutive conference wiin.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene wraps up the regular season October 9 at St. Joseph (Conn.).
