Women’s Basketball Endures 83-78 Loss at Nichols
DUDLEY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's basketball team suffered an 83-78 setback at Nichols Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Eastern Nazarene boasted a 13-9 lead after the opening 10 minutes of play.
- A pair of free throws by Molly Smith (Hudson, N.H.) pushed the visitors' advantage to 19-9 with 7:02 left to play in the second frame.
- The Lions edged the Bison 19-16 in second-quarter scoring to own a 32-25 lead at the half.
- Nichols strung together a 14-2 run to start the second half to seize a 39-34 edge with 4:29 remaining in the third quarter.
- The home side poured in 26 points in the third while the guests produced 17 points in the quarter as the Bison clung to a narrow 51-49 lead heading to the final frame.
- Nichols chalked up 13 unanswered points to begin the fourth and widen the gap to 64-49.
- Eastern Nazarene cut the deficit to 75-74 with 2:05 on the clock as Delaney Walker (Nampa, Idaho) splashed a three-pointer before Genesis McNeill (Providence, R.I.) knotted the contest at 75-75 with a free throw with 1:39 to go in regulation.
- The Bison reclaimed the lead, 77-75, with 1:02 left on a basket by Adriana Romano.
- Nichols converted 6-of-6 from the charity stripe in the final minute to wrap up its third victory of the year.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Sabanna Berrios (Providence, R.I.) notched her first double-double of the season, pouring in a career-high 22 points and grabbing 17 boards.
- Delaney Walker (Nampa, Idaho) netted 17 points to go with four steals, four assists, and four rebounds.
- Genesis McNeill (Providence, R.I.) finished eight points, nine steals, and seven assists on the night.
- Alexandria Paquet (Santa Maria, Calif.) posted eight points, six boards, six assists, and two blocks.
- Molly Smith (Hudson, N.H.) added eight points while Eva Graf (Mather, Calif.) chipped in with seven points and nine rebounds.
- Eastern Nazarene finished the game with a field-goal percentage of 42.9% and drained 5-of-18 from long distance.
- Nichols shot 35.3% from the floor and 25.8% from beyond the arc on the evening.
- Kiera Fernandes paced the Bison with 22 points while Adriana Romano registered 18 points.
