Women’s Hoops Drops New Year’s Eve Matchup at UMass-Boston
BOSTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's basketball team suffered a 70-38 setback at UMass-Boston Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After an evenly-matched opening quarter, the two teams were deadlocked at 11-11.
- Eastern Nazarene managed six points in the second frame while UMass-Boston poured in 28 points to hold a 39-17 lead at the half.
- The Beacons narrowly outscored the Lions 10-9 in the third period to carry a 49-26 advantage into the fourth quarter.
- The home team chalked up 22 points in the fourth while limiting the visitors to 12 points en route to earning its first victory over Eastern Nazarene since 2010.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Anaira Ayala (Guaynabo, P.R.) scored a team-high 12 points while adding three steals.
- Ahidali DeHuelbes (Tucson, Ariz.) collected a career-best 11 rebounds and tallied six points.
- Delaney Walker (Nampa, Idaho) chipped in with seven points while Ashley Quigley (Field's Landing, Calif.) netted six points in her debut for the Lions.
- Eastern Nazarene concluded the contest with a field-goal percentage of 30.9% to go with 3-for-12 shooting from three-point range.
- UMass-Boston shot 42.7% from the floor and 21.4% from beyond the arc on the afternoon.
- Meg Dixon paced the Beacons with a game-high 23 points and 13 rebounds. Alexah Potter posted 18 points and Tatiannah Fevry contributed with 10 points off the bench.
