Comeback Bid Thwarted as Women’s Hoops Clipped at Suffolk, 77-73
BOSTON, Mass.- Despite a strong second-half effort, the Eastern Nazarene College women's basketball team suffered a 77-73 setback at Suffolk Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After a back-and-forth opening quarter, the home side clung to a narrow 23-20 edge.
- Suffolk pushed its lead to 33-23 with 7:05 remaining in the second period on a bucket by Amanda DeAngelis.
- The Rams sported a 16-point advantage at the half, 52-36.
- Eastern Nazarene outscored Suffolk 17-13 in the third frame to trim the deficit to 65-53.
- The Lions tallied nine unanswered points to start the fourth quarter and narrow the gap to 65-61 with 7:30 left to play.
- The visitors cut the margin to 71-69 with 4:09 remaining on a layup by Te'yalla Simpson (Fairfield, Texas).
- After the Rams took a 74-71 edge, Eastern Nazarene responded with a layup by Alondra Jimenez (Santa Barbara, Calif.) with 55 seconds on the clock to pull to within one, 74-73.
- The hosts pushed their lead to 76-73 with 30 seconds to go in regulation as Arlenis Veloz banked in a layup before a free throw by Veloz with four seconds left sealed the victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Delaney Walker (Nampa, Idaho) scored a team-high 22 points, matching her season-best.
- Alondra Jimenez (Santa Barbara, Calif.) posted 20 points, seven rebounds, and three assists on the day.
- Te'yalla Simpson (Fairfield, Texas) chipped in with 11 points and nine boards while Anaira Ayala (Guaynabo, P.R.) added 10 points.
- Eastern Nazarene concluded the contest with a field-goal percentage of 42.2% to go with 39.3% shooting from long distance.
- Suffolk shot 40% from the floor and 36.8% from three-point range on the afternoon.
- Amanda DeAngelis paced the Rams with 23 points while Arlenis Veloz notched 14 points off the bench.
