QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's basketball team fell to Transylvania in the first-ever meeting between the two teams Friday evening at the Lahue Athletic Center.
The Lions slip to 5-1 on the season with the result. The Pioneers, who are receiving votes in the WBCA Preseason Coaches' Poll, improve to 2-0 overall with the win.
Sophia Torres (Fort Mohave, Ariz.) netted a team-high 16 points on the night. Delaney Walker (Nampa, Idaho) finished with six points off the bench. Alondra Jimenez (Santa Barbara, Calif.) posted seven assists, five points, and three steals.
The visitors outscored the home side in all four quarters to cruise to their second victory of the year.
Eastern Nazarene concluded the contest with a field-goal percentage of 27.4% while connecting on 3-of-14 from beyond the arc. Transylvania shot 55.9% from the floor and drained 19-of-40 three-point attempts.
Madison Kellione paced the Pioneers with 21 points, six assists, and five steals. Kennedi Stacy notched a double-double with 19 points and 12 boards. Kennedy Harris and Dasia Thornton each chipped in with 15 points while Emilie Teall added 10 points off the bench.
